There was an immense amount of research into the origins of the Rajčány (Slovakian) and Rajcsányi de Rajcsany (Hungarian/Magyar) family name, our common ancestors and the genealogy from early Slav (Slovakian) settlement in Great Moravia, throughout the 1000 year rule of the Hungarian Kingdom, post-Hungarian Kingdom and more recent times.

The first Slavs arrived in Slovakia at the end of the 5th and early 6th centuries. The early Slavs settled mainly in the lowlands near the water flows, the highest density of their settlements is documented just in the area of Nitra

The Rajčány family from Rajčány is recorded as Rajcsányi de Rajcsány in a 13 volume “Magyarország családai czimerekkel és nemzékrendi táblákkal” by author Nagy Iván published in 20 July 1857. Information on the he Rajčány family (Rajcsányi de Rajcsány) is recorded in Volume 9 - kötet [Paál család - Rottal család] (85.8Mb pdf) From Page 589 (See extracted 6 PDF pages P592-P597 3.5Mb). The Rajčány family information includes family names, descriptions, occupations, family tree (spanning two tables) description of the family coat of arms as well as a monochrome illustration with heraldic colour codes. The noble family tree and text records are between 1033 and 1837 during the Hungarian reign. Iván Nagy notes the noble titles were up to 1848. A Deed of Donation document written in Latin kept in the Hungarian National Archives, lists the names of the villages and farms in the same order as in the book of Ivan the Great that were donated by King Béla of Hungary to Count Bethlehem: Rajcsány, Zelecseny, Lipovmnok, Keth, Doboz, Luky, Berencs, Septenc Újfalu, Belez and Illés Nitra
(in Slovak present day: Rajcsány= Rajčany, Zelecseny=Želiezovce?, Lipovmnok=Lipová • Lipové • Lipovník, Keth= Keť, Doboz=?, Luky= Lukáčovce?, Berencs=Branč?, Septenc Újfalu= Slepčany? , Belez=Belá? • Beladice? • Belince? and Illés= Iňa?). The locality of Rajčany existed well before 1200 and was inhabited by the Slav Rajčán/Rajčány clans? (verify).
The First Rajčany family name mentioned in Hungarian history and the documented family tree was Drágh de Rajcsány (born 1255). Dragh inherited Rajčany from his father Bethlehem and became known as Drágh from Rajčany According to Hungarian history, making Dragh the first ancestral Rajčany/Rajcsány (later Magyarised to Rajcsányi).
